About the K-Series

The K-Series features a number of individual design features that enables it to reach its full potential. These features include: sleek looks, High Velocity Slot Ports (HVSP), rear mounted drivers, detachable rear baffles and the ability to upgrade to a fully powered active mode.

High-Calibre Tweeter

By utilising virtual performance CAD simulation tools, Epos has been able to realise a very high performance and a pure, open and smooth sound quality from this tweeter.

The tweeter enjoys a low resonance frequency, high sensitivity and extended high-frequency response. Thanks to its 25mm fabric dome, short horn, high-temperature ferro-fluid cooled voice coil, and neodymium magnet, it is capable of high output levels for long periods without damaging the sound quality.

Highly Efficient Mid-Bass Driver

The Epos K5C mid-bass drivers deliver a balanced frequency response and seamless roll-off.

The Epos 101mm mid-bass driver features a high-calibre polypropylene cone and a dust cap. These components create a stiff, yet flexible, well-damped structure which keeps its shape even under pressure.

The K5C mid-bass drivers are enhanced by a bucking magnet system, which ensures that all the magnetic force is focussed around the voice-coil, leading to low distortion and high efficiency.

Simple Yet Effective Crossover

The K-series has returned to a more stripped back passive crossover topology for which the brand is synonymous, embodying Epos’s history.

A first order crossover is utilised to allow the Epos tweeter to enjoy a wide dynamic range with ultra low distortion. The mid-bass crossover uses a second order filter, making sure that the K5C is an easy load for any amplifier. The K5C is also non bi- wirable.

Innovative Construction

The brand new K-Series cabinet design is crafted from 15mm MDF and includes new internal bracing to reduce cabinet interference. The K-Series also introduces new front firing slot port technology. This slot port was designed for two important reasons.

Firstly, it enables a high volume of air to pass through without introducing audible impurities such as chuffing. Secondly, the slot port has enabled Epos to achieve a low-frequency response performance from a relatively small driver area.

One of the most impressive design factors included in the K-Series is the ability to upgrade it into an ‘active digital’ speaker. As a result, the rear panel and passive crossover are designed to be removed and replaced with the brand’s Active-K module.

The K-Series is available in two sophisticated silk white or black finishes with an optional grille being available. Both finish options demonstrate a wonderfully opulent look and texture to these models.
