The Marantz CD6007 CD Player offers even more specially-selected components and an enhanced circuit layout. Rigid feet further eliminate unwanted vibration, while the oversized, low-noise power supply powers the player’s digital and analogue circuitry. The new, high-quality AK4490 DAC, along with 2 selectable filter options, converts digital signals to analogue, which is then ‘pushed’ to the gold-plated sync outputs via Marantz’s proprietary small-signal amplifier, the HDAM-SA2. In addition, we have included a new remote that also controls the fitting PM6007 amplifier. The CD6007 features a newly developed, sophisticated headphone amplifier with a headphone-amp gain setting to accommodate a wide range of headphones.

Marantz HDAM Technology
Marantz developed its own discrete circuit boards to replace standard ICs. These HDAMs consist of discrete surface mount components with short mirror image L/R signal paths. These devices do exactly the same thing as the widely used Op-Amps but outperform these designs dramatically in terms of the Slew Rate and reduced noise level, resulting in more dynamic, accurate and detailed sound. In the CD6007, the proprietary HDAM-SA2 circuit improves on its previous HDAM module for an even more stable power supply. The idling current stability is less influenced by power transistor temperatures to maintain sound performance even at high level output.
Reference Quality D/A Conversion
The Marantz CD6007 CD Player features a new Hi-Res D/A conversion. It is equipped with a reference-class AK4490 D/A converter, offers two selectable filter options, and provides up to 192-kHz/24-bit resolution and DSD 5.6 MHz for optimum musical fidelity, with tight bass, pleasant mids, and smooth, extended highs for CD playback and Hi-Res formats from USB memory devices.
High Current Power Supply
The audio power supply employs high-speed, high-current Schottky Barrier Diodes and new, higher-value current-storage capacitors compared to the previous model. The size of the power supply capacitors has been increased by 120% for improved current stability and reduced AC noise during high-demanding listening sessions.

Compared to the CD6006, the Marantz CD6007 CD Player features an improved, redesigned headphone amplifier section. This is a wonderful CD player, lives up to all the excellent reviews it has got in international press. The CD tray mechanism is silky smooth and soundless. The new high end DAC used provides a lovely rendition – have listened to range from heavy metal to Indian vocals – with great sound all the way. I have not used a CD6006 so cannot compare directly. Been a regular customer since 2010, when I got my Quad 11L2 from Designer Audio Basement shop and then Marantz UD7007 in 2011 was my first online purchase and then over time – amps, cd players, speakers, interconnects etc and it’s the same, you can pay with confidence and forget. The product will be delivered and in case there are any issues then it will be addressed to your satisfaction.
From August 2025 onwards till last week – purchased – Advance Paris A12, Audiolab D9, Wharfedale Super Linton, Marantz CD 6007 and Marantz CD50n. Buying and Delivery experience as expected was great.
Right amount of warmth thanks to A12, pronounced midrange/vocals thanks to 3-way Super Lintons. Both together produce tight and thumping bass which is not boomy and does not overpower other frequencies. Clarity and separation of instruments is great, which results in clean music. Not a fair comparison here – But to my ears Tannoy’s XT8F floorstanders has a bigger soundstage, which is missing in this case, since Linton is a bookshelf speaker.
Marantz CD 6007 and CD50n have a dynamic, engaging and lively sound with CD50n being the bigger and better one in this regard. This balances the warmth of the amplifier and speaker duo. The combo sounds great for relaxed listening. Fatigue free and extended listening sessions with zero harshness for all genres of music
In case you are thinking why spend extra on streaming then – CD50n is not just CD6007+streamer. As a standalone CD player, it’s better in every way than CD 6007. I had the same experience when I heard SA8005 after listening to CD6005 – 9 years back.
