Lush and detailed sound. Superb mid-range. Overall slightly warm sound. Fast tight bass. This speaker produces music and keeps you glued to the chair. My one-hour listening session extends on for several hours. Also, a delight to look at. The bonus is the included stands.

Warm smooth sound with a clean and detailed mid-range and room filling phenomenal bass. Bass never feels bloated or excessive. It is fast and detailed. I am one of the few early buyers and am enjoying this speaker immensely.

This is probably the best choice one can make in this price range.
There is uniform praise for its sound quality – which i am happy to confirm.
What made these speakers particularly attractive were their aesthetics (including the classy stands).

I was initially going for a different model of Wharfedale but then Anil recommended the Lintons as my requirement was just stereo and never surround. And am I glad I heeded his advice. The speakers are beautifully constructed and a delight to the eye. The retro look with a wide baffle is very pleasing. The mid range is superb and so is the bass, so much so I have removed the subwoofer. The treble is equally refined and the imaging is beautiful. For me, a 20 per cent toe-in works the best. The details are incredible and the clarity and refinement is outstanding. Coupled with a Denon PMA 2500NE amplifier, the experience is mesmerizing, compelling you to hear much longer than planned. To do justice to the speakers, you have to have an equally good amplifier. A great pair of speakers indeed.

During the lockdown, I started feeling the urge to upgrade from my Bose SoundTouch 30 to something a bit more enthusiastic. Something stereo. Maybe a home theatre system or something that could couple as my music system.
A friend told me about HiFiMART and, for a month or two, I was in discussion with Anil who was an impeccable guide into the world of hi fi sound.
After understanding my needs and what i listen to, he recommended Wharfedale and we finally ended up with the Lintons coupled with Audiolab CD transport and integrated amp from the 6000 series.
I was very impressed by their heft and sturdiness. The stands that come with them are just fantastic and add even more value for the money. When I first plugged them in, the clarity and openness astounded me! I felt like I had never listened to a good pair of speakers my whole life. It was enchanting! Needless to say, my Bose Bluetooth speaker was quickly forgotten.
The detail in the midrange, for vocals and clean guitars in particular, was astonishingly lifelike. The bass was clean, clearly formed and very detailed. However, the quantity of bass was of some concern since I’m a bassist and I like it to be ample. For that, I later got a Wharfedale D-10 sub which I have reviewed as well.
The treble was also clear and not at all harsh. In some songs, I wish I could have turned up the tone a bit but the Audiolab amp didn’t come with that feature. So if you do like tweaking your sound a touch, it would be wise to get an amp with tone adjustment.
My room is far from ideal though so I’m sure there’s still undiscovered potential in my Lintons. But they have changed my life already and I’ll never be able to go back to “ordinary” speakers. The Lintons are, after all, quite extraordinary.

I broke the cardinal rule (bought speakers without listening to them first.. based in NCR and these are only available on demo in Mumbai) but am happy to report that these suit my listening perfectly! Thanks to Mr. Anil for asking the right questions and diagnosing my preference.
The Lintons aren’t the popular choice but am surprised at the range of sound and clarity – they are much more versatile and modern than the appearance suggests. Go for them if you like to listen to jazz, classic rock and pop – they will handle Madonna and Michael Jackson beautifully but less today’s noisy pop.
Also, make sure you get the best cable you can afford, I had to discard the ‘silver’ cables originally sent and got Furutech copper cables which made at least a 30% difference to the sound.
Last thought, make sure you get approval from your better half as their looks are not to everyone’s taste!

Vintage looks, matching stands. Full bodied warm sound. Vocals are natural. Good with all genre. Strikes a good balance without overemphasizing on any instrument. Not Analytical . Very Musical. Not airy, but I have experienced this is in only very expensive speakers. Despite any cons stated anywhere in reviews….this is a undeniably enjoyable speaker, for it is very soulful.
