Powerful 88W RMS Stereo Sound
The Edifier S880DB MKII features a sophisticated active speaker architecture with dedicated amplification for its high-frequency and mid-bass drivers.
Each speaker receives 12W RMS for its tweeter and 32W RMS for its mid-bass driver, providing a combined system output of 88W RMS.
This arrangement allows the speakers to deliver well-controlled sound across the frequency range, maintaining clarity during both quiet listening sessions and more energetic musical passages.
From delicate acoustic instruments and expressive vocals to electronic music and movie soundtracks, the S880DB MKII is engineered to reproduce sound with impressive detail and dynamic capability.
Because amplification is already built into the system, there is no need to purchase an external stereo amplifier or receiver. Simply connect your preferred audio source and enjoy high-quality stereo reproduction.
Upgraded Titanium Dome Tweeters for Exceptional Clarity
High-frequency performance plays an important role in creating an engaging and realistic listening experience.
The S880DB MKII features upgraded 1.25-inch titanium diaphragm dome tweeters, incorporating a larger voice coil and neodymium magnetic system.
These improvements are designed to deliver greater high-frequency precision, improved responsiveness and excellent detail retrieval.
The tweeters reproduce subtle musical information such as cymbal decay, acoustic guitar harmonics, delicate string passages and the finer textures of vocal recordings.
With high-frequency extension reaching 40kHz, the speakers are designed to accommodate the extended frequency information found in high-resolution recordings.
The result is a clear and spacious presentation that brings additional realism to your favourite music.
Aluminium Mid-Bass Drivers for Natural Vocals and Controlled Bass
Complementing the upgraded tweeters are specially developed 3.75-inch long-throw aluminium diaphragm mid-bass drivers.
These drivers combine a lightweight yet rigid diaphragm with an optimised motor structure to provide accurate midrange reproduction and responsive low-frequency performance.
Vocals remain expressive and well-defined, while instruments such as piano, acoustic guitar and percussion retain their natural character.
The redesigned drivers extend bass response down to 50Hz, providing satisfying low-frequency weight for speakers of this compact size.
Whether you enjoy classical music, jazz, Bollywood soundtracks, rock or contemporary electronic music, the S880DB MKII delivers a balanced presentation that suits a wide variety of musical styles.
For listeners who prefer deeper bass extension, the dedicated subwoofer output makes it easy to expand the system with a compatible powered subwoofer.
Hi-Res Audio Certification for Detailed Music Reproduction
The Edifier S880DB MKII is designed for listeners who want to experience the benefits of high-resolution digital audio.
Its advanced digital architecture incorporates high-performance Texas Instruments audio components and an XMOS XU216 processor, supporting precise digital signal processing and conversion.
The USB-C, optical and coaxial digital inputs support audio signals up to 24-bit/192kHz, allowing compatible sources to deliver high-resolution music directly to the speakers.
Compared with conventional CD-quality audio, high-resolution formats can carry additional audio information, although the audible benefits depend on the recording, playback equipment and listening conditions.
This capability makes the S880DB MKII an excellent choice for music enthusiasts who maintain high-resolution audio libraries or use compatible lossless music streaming services.
Bluetooth 5.3 with LDAC for High-Quality Wireless Streaming
Enjoy the freedom of wireless listening without compromising on convenience.
The S880DB MKII incorporates Bluetooth 5.3 technology for convenient wireless connections with compatible smartphones, tablets and computers.
Support for the LDAC audio codec enables high-resolution wireless audio transmission at up to 24-bit/96kHz and transmission rates of up to 990kbps when used with compatible devices.
This makes the speakers particularly appealing to Android users who want to enjoy high-quality wireless music streaming.
Bluetooth SBC support ensures compatibility with a broad range of Bluetooth audio devices.
Whether you are playing a favourite playlist, discovering new artists or enjoying background music while working, the S880DB MKII makes wireless listening simple and enjoyable.
Versatile Connectivity for Music, TV and Computers
One of the biggest advantages of the Edifier S880DB MKII is its extensive selection of digital and analogue audio inputs.
USB-C Input
Connect a compatible desktop computer or laptop directly to the speakers for high-resolution digital audio playback. This makes the S880DB MKII particularly suitable for premium desktop music systems.
Optical Digital Input
Connect a compatible television, media player or other digital audio source using the optical input. Enjoy clearer dialogue, detailed sound effects and immersive stereo sound when watching movies or television programmes.
Coaxial Digital Input
The coaxial input provides another high-quality digital connection option for compatible CD players, streamers and other audio equipment.
Dual RCA Analogue Inputs
Two separate RCA line inputs allow connection of analogue audio sources such as CD players, external DACs and turntables equipped with a suitable phono preamplifier.
Bluetooth Wireless Input
Stream music directly from compatible Bluetooth devices without additional cables.
With so many connectivity options, the S880DB MKII can serve as the central audio system for your home entertainment or desktop setup.
Expand Your System with a Powered Subwoofer
Although the S880DB MKII delivers impressive bass performance for its compact dimensions, some listeners may prefer additional low-frequency depth when watching movies or enjoying bass-heavy music.
The dedicated SUB OUT connection allows you to add a compatible powered subwoofer.
This provides the flexibility to create a more substantial 2.1-channel audio system while retaining the clarity and convenience of the original stereo speakers.
A subwoofer can be particularly beneficial when reproducing deep electronic bass, orchestral recordings and cinematic sound effects.
Advanced Sound Processing and Customisable Audio
The Edifier S880DB MKII incorporates advanced digital signal processing technology to optimise its acoustic performance.
Its XMOS XU216 processor works alongside dedicated audio circuitry to manage digital audio signals accurately and efficiently.
Multiple preset sound effects allow listeners to adjust the presentation according to their preferences and listening material.
For additional convenience, the speakers support the EDIFIER ConneX mobile application, which provides access to compatible playback controls, sound effect adjustments, customisation options and system settings.
Whether you prefer a balanced presentation for acoustic recordings or a more energetic sound for contemporary music, the available controls make it easier to tailor your listening experience.
Rechargeable Wireless Remote and OLED Display
The S880DB MKII is designed to make everyday operation straightforward.
The included rechargeable 2.4GHz wireless remote provides convenient access to essential functions without requiring you to reach behind the speakers.
An integrated OLED display provides clear information about the selected input and operating status.
The display also features automatic dimming, helping it remain unobtrusive in darker listening environments.
Physical controls on the speaker offer an additional way to manage volume and input selection.
Together, these features make the S880DB MKII a practical choice for both desktop systems and home entertainment installations.
Elegant, Compact Design for Modern Living Spaces
Premium sound should not require a large or complicated audio system.
The Edifier S880DB MKII combines contemporary styling with a compact bookshelf design that fits comfortably into modern interiors.
Its carefully proportioned cabinets and refined appearance make it suitable for computer desks, bookshelves, dedicated speaker stands and home entertainment furniture.
Measuring just 145mm wide and 237mm high per speaker, the system occupies relatively little space while delivering a substantial stereo listening experience.
For the best results, position the speakers at approximately ear level, with suitable spacing between the left and right channels.
Correct positioning can help improve stereo imaging, vocal focus and soundstage depth.
