The low-noise motor and precision bearing work in harmony to ensure accurate platter rotation, while the RB220 tonearm extracts every subtle detail from your vinyl grooves.

Listeners can expect a soundstage that’s both open and balanced, with crisp highs, lush mids, and deep, controlled bass. The tonal accuracy and rhythm make every genre—from jazz and classical to rock and electronic—come alive with remarkable presence.

This turntable doesn’t colour your sound; it reproduces it faithfully, revealing the nuances and textures that make vinyl playback so special. It’s this natural, musical quality that makes the Rega Planar 2 Turntable a favourite among discerning vinyl enthusiasts.

Precision Engineering Meets Simplicity

While the Rega Planar 2 Turntable showcases state-of-the-art technology, it’s designed to be simple and user-friendly. Rega believes that great sound should be accessible, not complicated. With plug-and-play convenience, there’s no need to fuss over complex calibration or assembly.

Every part of the turntable—from the tonearm bearings to the motor mount—is precision-engineered for reliability and long-lasting performance. The build quality ensures that your investment will continue to deliver outstanding sound for years to come.

Innovative RB220 Tonearm – The Heart of the Performance

The RB220 tonearm is a significant highlight of the Rega Planar 2 Turntable. This advanced tonearm design incorporates ultra-low friction bearings, precision-machined aluminium parts, and an integrated headshell for maximum rigidity.

Its automatic bias adjustment simplifies setup while maintaining excellent tracking accuracy. The result is smooth motion across the record surface, reduced distortion, and exceptional detail retrieval. Whether you’re listening to delicate acoustic melodies or powerful rock anthems, the RB220 ensures every groove is perfectly traced.

Glass Platter and Bearing – Stability and Style

At the core of the Rega Planar 2’s impressive performance lies its 10mm float glass platter. Unlike plastic or composite alternatives, this glass platter delivers superior speed consistency and inertial stability. Its mass helps maintain precise rotational speed, ensuring your records play with impeccable timing and rhythm.

Complementing this is the newly developed precision brass bearing assembly, which provides smoother movement and reduces mechanical noise. Together, they create a stable platform for your records, minimising vibrations and maximising musical fidelity.

Silent, Efficient 24V Motor

The Rega Planar 2 Turntable incorporates a custom 24V low-noise motor that runs quietly and efficiently. This advanced motor reduces mechanical resonance, allowing the stylus to track the record grooves without interference. The result is an impressively silent background and more explicit musical detail.

This motor design not only enhances sound performance but also improves overall longevity and reliability—essential qualities for serious vinyl enthusiasts who expect consistent playback quality.

Performance Meets Aesthetics

The Rega Planar 2 Turntable isn’t just about sound—it’s also a visual masterpiece. Its minimalist design reflects Rega’s philosophy of pure functionality without unnecessary ornamentation. The gloss acrylic-laminated plinth is available in multiple finishes, blending seamlessly into any home décor.

Every component looks as premium as it feels. The combination of polished aluminium, glass, and high-quality polymers makes the Planar 2 both durable and elegant—a perfect centrepiece for any vinyl setup.
